Wednesday, 10 Mar 2010China Ship News reported that Nanjing Iron & Steel United Co Ltd accumulatively produced 1.77 million tonnes of medium plates in 2009 including 1.01m tons of ship plates

Affected by the financial crisis, Nanjing Steel ship plate output decreased from 2008. However, the company developed high-end ship plates last year to cater for the need of its customers.

Aiming to gain more market share, the medium plate plant of Nanjing Steel actively provided impeller blasting and sprays painting services to thin plates for its customers like Jibao Ship Yard and Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry Co Ltd.

The company also developed 6*3150mm ship plate from its steckel mill, being the only one which produces the product in China.
